We understand that farm and land infrastructure is a key area of support to helping farmers scale production and helping land stewards stay rooted on land. Farm & land infrastructure needs could include, but not limited to: dry or cooling storage for crops, fencing, tractor repair, repairing farm housing, expanding or adding utilities, a specialized tool for farm production.
PCF resources farmers up to $10,000 (unrestricted) for on-farm needs.
This grant prioritizes projects that demonstrate values around the importance of:
Land and food justice
Deep relationships within agrarian work
Collective work and collective harvest integrated into community care
Honoring heritage and cultural practices, and
Farm and land based operations as part of a broader food systems strategy
Funding priority is given to projects that focus on regenerative agriculture or agro-ecology, collective and cooperative agricultural organizing and practices, agrarian cultural practices and traditions, or intergenerational farming communities (working in some capacity across generations).
Eligibility:
Farmer of color working in North Carolina, Georgia, South Carolina, and Virginia
Must be currently farming and for at least 2 years
